Red Castle Cocoonababy

Welcoming baby gently into the world, providing him with a comforting, reassuring, womb-like space, the Cocoonababy® helps the newborn make the transition to the outside world as smooth as possible. The semi-foetal position, in which baby is as if contained and in a slightly curved posture, soothes and reassures him. It helps limit the onset of problems which could affect him during his first few months and encourages all-round development.

At birth, baby can sleep for up to 20 hours a day. It is therefore important to create a favourable sleeping environment for him, one in which he feels safe. The Cocoonababy® by Red Castle is an ergonomic cocoon for use by baby at every sleepy moment.

It lets baby resume the semi-foetal position he knew in the womb and provides him with a well-defined, reassuring, tranquil space.

Relaxed, the child falls asleep and sleep cycles follow more easily. Furthermore, the regrouped position which he adopts in the Cocoonababy® contributes to his all-round development.

The Cocoonababy® permits a smooth transition from the mother’s womb to the outside world. In fact, baby regains motricity close to that which he knew in the womb. The Cocoonababy® helps limit the main common discomforts which can bother baby in the early months.

It helps to:

  • Improve the quality and duration of sleep
  • Reduce waking up with a start (Moro reflex)
  • Limit reflux problems Limit the risk of flat head (plagiocephaly)
  • Encourage on all-round development, free and direct the child’s movements and in doing so, help him build an improved body schema (bringing his hands up to his face and with his body in a slightly flexed position)

What is the best way to position baby?

Positioning baby properly is essential for his sleep, his well-being and his development.

Always place baby on his back to sleep (as recommended by the medical profession), on a firm mattress. Baby will always be well positioned thanks to the adjustable wedge below the fitted sheet.

What is the ideal sleeping position for baby during the first months?

In a curled up position and contained, as in a cocoon.

His legs bent, his knees raised higher than his buttocks.

His back very slightly raised (around 20°).

His hands near his face.
